My apologies for being on hiatus (more so laziness) for the last year. The lists, pictures are piling up and I shall be back very soon with tonnes of updates....

This was another stand-out for that year. A 2 level mega mansion sitting on 2000sqm of AA grade Toorak land. It wasn't in the best of shape was in need of renovation sold strongly with three super keen parties for $9,225,000 (there wasn't a tennis court then either).

Here's an interesting listing i found from the Age's classifieds circa 18 Dec, 1986!

And just when you thought that 2000sqm would be plenty, the owner has since bought the neighbouring property 2a Tahara Rd in March 2008 (615sqm).

Ok Lets start from the time I been collecting info on Melbourne's Prestige Real-estate - The Year was 2006-07. 

Here are some of my favourite houses which went on sale that year...

Interestingly it on the market in 2010 again, but failed to drum up a buyer in an "expressions of interest" campaign. again in 2010 (it's amazing how quickly the mega rich move residences). Then after a more public campaign in 2011 it finally sold. Quote in 2010 was in the 10 Million plus range. Methinks it sold for over that number probably early teens.

A bit of History on 20 St Georges Road. It was the first $1 million house sale in Melbourne! The mansion home at 20 St Georges Rd, Toorak, was then owned by the late former mayor and businessman Sir Maurice Nathan. 

"It was the early 1980s and was sold at auction and was the first $1 million sale of this city, which was a bit of a to-do," the Morrell and Koren director says. "That block has since been sub-divided and a new house built with a swimming pool ... that new house recently sold for about $15 million." (there's a tennis court too).

There have been some major reno's over those 3-4 years ....
